The pre-treatment or wet finishing requires chemical agents that are used with water to remove impurities from fabrics.
Molecular structure of Clay
At the molecular level, the clay structure is based on lamellar sheets. By separating these sheets in the lab, Cosmo Speciality Chemicals has been able to successfully synthesize a unique agent that absorbs all kinds of dirt, oil, greases etc.

ECO Clay, is a clay-based multifunctional auxiliary that removes organic and inorganic impurities from the fabrics. The product is specially formulated for the scouring process and is suitable for all types of natural and synthetic fibers like filament, yarns, fabric & all products made from them, including textured & non-textured filaments & yarns, woven knitted or non-woven fabrics.

ECO Clay, being a clay-based Scouring Agent, reduces water pollution. It reduces the load on the environment treatment plant by up to 35% and reduces the need for additional auxiliaries in the pre-treatment stage, thus reducing the COD/BOD (Chemical Oxygen Demand and Biochemical Oxygen demand) levels in the waste resulting in improving Tegewa rating. Eco Clay is also non-toxic to human and aquatic life, and hence, is eco-friendly.
- Excellent cleaning properties
Due to its mechanical shearing on fabrics, it helps to remove oil, dirt & grease and produces an excellent cleaning effect to silicone or mineral oils from elastanes fibers when blended with cotton, polyamide, or polyester.
- Better color yield and whiteness
Using ECO Clay improves the fiber absorbability which provide the substrate with improved dye penetration resulting in a better color yield.
Due to its unique wash performance, it has an excellent lubricant property and is low foaming. It has a good stabilizing effect to provide Bleaching action and provides a higher degree of whiteness.

ECO Clay has also shown excellent results on quality parameters like weight loss, rewetting, etc. This product is especially transformed to produce gentle scouring of the fabric resulting in minimum weight loss and provide the fabric with a smooth feel without affecting the structural strength of the fiber.
